Job summary

We are looking to recruit a new part-time Receptionist/Administrator to join our team at Deepcar Medical Centre.

This is a part time position of 15 hours pw, working on a Thursday afternoon & Friday morning & afternoon. The role includes a cover shift of around 5-6 hours on another day of the week. This is to cover annual leave & sickness for the rest of the Reception/Administration team.

Main duties of the job

Some of your main duties would be:

Answering telephone calls & the reception desk, booking appointments, dealing with patient queries, order prescriptions, process admin duties for clinical staff, general administration such as filing and liaising with other health care providers in a professional manner, and scanning clinical letters.

The duties are variable, depending on what is required on the day.

Job responsibilities

Main duties include:

Answering incoming calls, respond to queries and manage email correspondence promptly.

Booking & triaging patient appointments, signposting patients to relevant services

Greeting patients and visitors with a professional and friendly manner at the reception desk.

Assist clinicians as needed, including handling paperwork, stocking consultation rooms and daily end of day duties to ensure the rooms are meeting infection control standards.

Manage office supplies, handling incoming/outgoing post and perform general administrative duties.

Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality.

Candidates must have strong communication skills, be friendly, reliable and willing to learn and develop their skills.
