Job summary
We
are looking to increase our team with the addition of a dynamic and motivated part time Pharmacy Technician (15 to 22.5 hours per week) to join our Pharmacy Team.
We are searching for a keen and
enthusiastic individual who is prepared to challenge, think 'outside the box'
and help us to continue our journey onto bigger and better things, including
the development of our new branch site in Drakelow, South Derbyshire.

Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will provide support to general practice staff with regards to
prescription and medication queries. Carry out medicine switches in line with practice and ICB agreed specific protocols reviewing patient's
records, amending records and informing patients.They
will help support the repeat prescriptions system promoting electronic repeat
dispensing and online ordering. Carry out housekeeping whilst in patient
records eg dose optimisation and medicines synchronisation.
The
post holder will be the first port of call to answer and deal with any
medicines related queries from administration and reception staff plus any medicines
related queries from dispensary staff. The aim of which is to improve the
quality of care for our patients and operational efficiencies within the PCN,
so requires motivation and passion to deliver excellent service to patients within General
Practice.

Practice and play an active role in our PCN. Our Practice consists of 3 GP Partners, 4 GPs, 2 ACPs, Practice Nurse, 2 Nursing
Associates and an HCA. We have a Senior Clinical Pharmacist and Clinical Pharmacist plusa Health & Wellbeing Coach and
Patient Care Coordinator and dedicated and professional Care Navigators and Administrative
staff.
We have an active PPG Group,a high social media presence and good NHS reviews. We are a
designated Safe Place, Veteran Friendly accredited, working towards Pride in
Practice accreditation and have a pro-active approach in supporting the LGBTQ+
community.

- Registration with General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician (GPhC)
- BTEC/NVQ3 Pharmacy Services (or equivalent)
- Evidence of commitment to continuing professional development
- Enrolled in, undertaking or qualified from, an approved training pathway. For example, the Primary Care Pharmacy Educational Pathway (PCPEP) or Medicines Optimisation in Care Homes (MOCH) or courses approved by the Association of Pharmacy Technicians UK (APTUK) as meeting the requirements of the UK-wide APTUK/PCPA National Competency Framework for Primary Care Pharmacy Technicians
