This is an exciting new opportunity to work with four Practices within Swadlincote Primary Care Network. Consisting of Newhall Surgery, Gresleydale Healthcare Centre, Swadlincote Medical Centre and Heartwood Medical Centre. Swadlincote PCN is in the heart of the National Forest in rural South Derbyshire and has approximately 58,000 patients. The Practices in the PCN are committed to improving patient care and diversifying General Practice with a broad skill mix.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Pharmacy Technician, who acts within their professional
boundaries, supporting and working alongside a team of pharmacists in General
Practice.
The
post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a patient facing
role leading improvements to maximise safe,
cost-effective best practice in prescribing to improve the quality of patient
care. To help patients to get the best from their medicines by switching
medications to agreed and approved protocols, improving repeat prescribing
processes, including promotion of repeat dispensing and
online ordering, minimising clinical risk and aiming to reduce wasted
medicines.
They will support staff with prescription and medication queries, carry out medicine switches in line with protocols, reviewing patient's
records, amending records and informing patients. They
will help support the repeat prescriptions system promoting electronic repeat
dispensing and online ordering.
The
post holder will be the first port of call for medicines related queries from administration, reception and dispensary staff. The aim is to improve the
quality of care for our patients and so requires motivation and passion to deliver excellent service within General
Practice.

The
post holder is a Pharmacy Technician, who acts within their professional
boundaries, supporting and working alongside a team of pharmacists in General
Practice. In this role they will be supported by a Clinical Pharmacist who will
develop, manage and mentor them.
The
post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a patient facing
role. The purpose of the role is to lead improvements to maximise safe,

care. You will help patients to get the best from their medicines by switching

records eg dose optimisation and medicines synchronisation.
The
