Practice Manager

Job summary

We are seeing an experienced NHS GP practice manager or an experienced NHS GP assisstant manager looking to move up to practice manager level.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities:

• Operations Management
• Oversee daily practice operations and staff performance

Manage clinical and administrative staff, including direct supervision of:

• Operations Manager
• Administration Lead
• Practice Administrators
• Patient Services Team
• Practice Nursing Team
• Salaried GPs

Human Resources

• Lead recruitment, retention, and succession planning
• Conduct staff inductions and return-to-work interviews
• Maintain HR compliance and documentation
• Implement effective appraisal and training systems
• Handle disciplinary and grievance procedures

Practice Development

• Ensure QOF target achievement
• Manage practice contracts and procurement
• Coordinate policy updates and compliance
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives
• Maintain NHS contractual obligations

Patient Services & Communication

• Develop internal and external communication strategies
• Manage the Patient Participation Group
• Handle complaints according to NHSE guidelines
• Promote online patient services
• Maintain practice website

Facilities & Compliance

• Oversee premises management and health & safety
• Ensure IT security and information governance
• Manage practice insurance coverage
• Coordinate business resilience planning
• Maintain CQC compliance

We are a PMS practice based on two sites ( main site in Mitcham ), with a list size of 8200. Two partners We provide high quality care and reach full QOF targets.

We employ six salaried GP's , clinical pharmacist , practice nurses and HCA's.
