Job summary

We now have an exciting new opportunity for a Head of Implementation and New Business to join our team.

What were looking for in ourHead of Implementation and New Business:

You will be responsible for leading on the contract mobilisation of new practices together with leading the mobilisation and implementation of these sites. You will also be responsible for building and delivering a pipeline of tender opportunities which will expand SSPs reach, with the aspiration to be the largest national provider of primary care (GP) services. You will also build commissioner relationships and through these identify opportunities to develop new service offerings, then work with operational colleagues and other subject matter experts to design and deliver these.

We are ideally looking for an ambitious and creative leader with previous experience working in Primary Care organisations, with excellent stakeholder management experience, both internally and externally, and ability to collaborate with all functions

  • Is organised, and an effective communicator, able to manage upwards and downwards, creating an engaged team who are empowered to deliver the changes and initiatives you look to embed

Main duties of the job

To lead the mobilisation and implementation of new practices together with identification of new opportunities. The ideal candidate will have experience with mobilisation together with experience of bid writing.

We streamline practice management processes through our centralised support services to enable GPs, nurses and practice teams to focus on delivering the best quality healthcare for their patients how and when they want it.

SSP is in the process of rolling its model out nationally through takeover of existing GP surgeries, as well as securing new contracts through tenders and growing specialist services to support the challenges of healthcare provision.

Job summary

To lead the mobilisation and implementation of new practices.

Ensure high levels of Customer Satisfaction and Health and Safety performance are achieved on all projects.

Lead and implement contract mobilisation.

Manage contracts to ensure that implementation and key performance indicators are met or exceeded.

Arrange and lead stakeholder meetings to review contract performance

Solve problems with an emphasis on positively finding solutions to contract issues.

Implement quality management to ensure projects are delivered to specification with zero defects at handover.

Complete all requests for information such as update reports, projections, KPI,s by the set deadlines.

Ensure the right resource is in place for contracts.

Develop, review and coach colleagues to deliver a great job. Identify new business opportunities, including new clients, new partnerships or new services

Create strategies to successfully reach new business opportunities, including but not limited to tracking NHS opportunities through the available new tender alert services

Build relationships with Clinical Commissioning Groups (and their successor commissioning organisations within the NHS), gauge their needs and develop proposals to address these needs

Pitch services to new and existing commissioners.

Create sales forecasts and actively work towards achieving these.

Manage and contribute to NHS bids, including managing commissioner portals and ensuring that quality content is delivered, reviewed, approved and uploaded in accordance with bid deadlines.

Ensure that any clarification responses required in respect of bids are responded to by an appropriate subject matter expert, approved and uploaded to meet commissioner deadlines

Attend industry events and conferences to build relationships and stay up to date with new trends, and support the attendance of SSP Health at such events should this be required

Manage the input of subject matter experts from across the business and identify any specialist skills gaps, make a plan for resourcing bidding activity and ensure that this is delivered.

Develop a strong understanding of the services and potential offerings so that you can represent the organisation in a professional manner.

Design new offerings in collaboration with operational colleagues and manage the initial implementation of these before handing over to service management

Key responsibilities

Mobilisation and implementation of new practices when required.

Coordinate the mobilisation and implementation of new practices and projects on time, on target and on budget. Support the mobilisation of new practices, enabling them to be delivered effectively from day one

Producing a service Implementation Brief for each new practice with senior input and agreement.

Resource planning, both for immediate and long-term headcount

Liaise and attend meetings with external stakeholders to provide service assurance.

Monitor service risks, ensuring they are thoroughly understood with clear actions for mitigation and appropriate reviews.

Responsible for the creation and management of an Implementation Plan for each new practice, and a summary of this in the form of a Service Plan for others to use.

Ensuring all critical decision-making information, including identified risks and proposed/ planned mitigations, from the development and proposals for new services are reflected in preparatory work and plans for mobilisation.

Ensuring all risks arising from requirements to employ new staff, change in duties of existing staff and/ or TUPE of staff from other organisations are fully assessed and mitigated throughout implementation.

To be present onsite at new mobilisations / demobilisations of contracts for extended periods.

Work closely with our facility providers to ensure a smooth mobilisation set up.

To support and co-ordinate with other departments regarding new facilities, external services such as phone lines and energy providers to ensure a smooth transition on set up.

Managing the assigned mobilisation budget for each new service to ensure the appropriate level of resources for mobilisation are identified and available within the lifetime budget for new services.

Ensuring changes to spending profile estimates subsequent to the award are reviewed with the Finance Department.

Identify suitable premises with associated facilities as required, e.g. office accommodation, clinical premises, and liaise with local suppliers and contractors to co-ordinate supplier activity on-site.

Liaising with IT to determine all IT requirements and associated costs, and to coordinate site audits and installations.

Responsible for ensuring health and safety issues are considered and appropriate risk assessments are undertaken during implementation.

Planning for and dealing with uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity through comprehensive risk identification, mitigation and management; ensuring current issues, known constraints, assumptions or conflicts that may affect implementation are considered.
