Experienced Practice Nurse
The Alma Road
Surgery Romsey has a vacancy for an experienced Practice Nurse with Chronic
Disease management particularly Diabetes and Asthma to join our busy and
friendly Nursing Team.
25 to 30 hours
per week (Monday, Tuesday and Friday
however negotiable)
Pay dependant on
experience.
The role
includes long term condition reviews (Diabetes, COPD, Asthma), Wound care,
Cervical Screening, Contraception, Travel & Child Immunisations.
The Alma Road
Surgery is in a semi-rural location on the outskirts of Southampton and the New
Forest with a list size of 15,700 patients.
We have 11 GPs,
4 Practice Nurses, Respiratory Nurse Lead, 2 Healthcare Assistants and 2
Phlebotomists.
Staff benefit
from a morning and afternoon coffee break, social events, birthday leave and a
friendly and supportive team culture.

to the Practice are welcomed.
Main duties of the job
Title: Practice Nurse
Responsible to: Practice
Nurse Manager
Hours: 25- 30 hours per week
Objective: To assess the nursing needs
of patients and provide appropriate care/treatment adhering to practice policy
and in accordance with NMC guidelines
Duties: The
main duties are:
Minor and Complex wound
care / ulcer care
Compression Dressings
Medical injections B12, Prostap, MH injections etc
ECGs
Removal of sutures
Venesection
To document the process of assessment, need and
delivery of care
To adhere to the NMC Code of Professional
Conduct and Scope of Professional Practice following national, local and
practice guidelines
To attend study sessions in order to keep up to
date with current trends
To be willing to provide cover due to sickness
or holiday
To comply with the Data Protection Act and
maintain confidentiality at all times
To adhere to Practice policies for record
keeping
Any
other duty appropriate to the role as requested by the Practice Nurse
Manager
