Main duties of the job
The post holder will lead and coordinate on all elements of running a General Practice.
The post holder will work closely with clinical staff and the wider non-clinical and administrative team to ensure the Practice is running smoothly on a day to day basis, with support from the Practice Partners.
The post holder will work closely with external organisations and stakeholders to enhance patient care and to support additional patient services that will benefit the local population.
The post holder will be responsible for maintaining our new modern purpose built premises to enhance the patient experience and provide a welcoming environment.
The post holder will actively seek patient engagement in the services that it provides and will embrace modern technology to support and enhance the care that the surgery can offer its patients.

Ratby Medical Centre is a family
run GP Practice who are committed to patient wellbeing with a strong focus on
compassionate care.
The Practice moved to a
modern purpose built premises in November 2023. We have a practice list size of
over 6,100, which is rapidly growing, largely due to patient satisfaction and
the care they receive from our dedicated team and our modern facilities.
We have three GP Partners,
two salaried GP's, two Practice Nurses and several additional roles through the
extended team of Primary Care Network staff, including Clinical Pharmacists,
Social Prescribers, and a First Contact Physiotherapist.
The
Medical Centre also includes a Pharmacy adjoining the practice and a private
dentist.

and training
- Managing the administrative staff and
non-clinical management of nursing staff, including securing funding and taking
lead responsibility in staff appraisal and organising recruitment selection and
training.
- Reviewing and regularly updating Job Descriptions
and Person Specifications.
- Ensuring familiarisation of all staff contracts
of employment and that all relevant employment legislation is followed.
- Ensuring the practices employment policies
and procedures are comprehensive and up to date and followed by all staff.
- Ensure induction programmes are completed for
all staff and recorded appropriately in the staff personnel file.
- Manage training, including the organisation of
internal PLTs, ensuring all mandatory training is completed in the required
time-frames.
- Ensure all staff recognise the significance of
collaborative working. Teamwork is essential in multidisciplinary environments.
Effective communication is essential and all staff must ensure they communicate
in a manner which enables the sharing of information in an appropriate manner.
- Oversee preparation and implementation of
staff rotas and staff holidays.

- Managing book-keeping,
petty cash and other financial aspects of the practice, including payroll, NHS
pension scheme arrangements and practice claims.

including organising any maintenance and developments to the system.
