This is an ideal post for someone looking for a friendly GP Practice.
Previous experience of SystmOne preferred but not essential.
Answering busy phones, manage tasks and data entry on a reception, a friendly,
helpful and calm approach is essential.

Main duties of the job
You will play a lead role in signposting patients to the appropriate member of the clinical team. Full training will be provided to empower you to have confidence in using a basic level of clinical signposting when making decisions.
You will have in-depth knowledge of the clinical rota and will work closely with the Management Team on identifying gaps and opportunities.
This role requires a caring, dedicated individual who enjoys working with a wide range of people.
About us
We have a team of 3 GP partners, Salaried/Sessional GPs, Practice Business Manager, Assistant Practice Manager, Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Practice Nurse, Health Care Assistant, Administrators and receptionist.
We also have a team of ARRS staff which includes: Clinical Pharmacist, Social Prescriber & First Contact Physio

General Duties
- Provide a friendly patient-centred reception service, communicating appropriately with patients who need help and reassurance
- Signpost and book patient appointments with the appropriate healthcare professional.
- Receive and deal with telephone enquiries and take action or pass on messages as appropriate.
- Provide information and non-clinical advice, resolving problems where possible
- Register new patients
- Administer/scan and send requests for repeat prescriptions
- Ensure all information is correctly entered on the computer system including scanning incoming letters into patient records (to be included multi skills opportunity staff development)
- Contacting patients, where requested, regarding test results, making appointments other reasons etc
- Ensure patients are charged appropriately for any private services and accounting for the money taken, by adhering GDPR policy protocol.
- Actively promote practice developments and initiatives to patients, for example electronic prescriptions (EPS), appointment reminders (MJOG), AccuRx, Online Patient Access and e-consult, Web GP
- Follow all practice protocols/procedures/guidelines
- Update regularly patient details such as patients contact numbers and email address
- Suggest process improvements that can be made to the practice systems
- Ensure that you are working in accordance with all of the practice’s policies and procedures (including confidentiality, information governance, GDPR and infection control), as well as the Staff Handbook.
