Job summary
Brandon Medical Practice - We are
seeking a Part time innovative, enthusiastic, flexible Practice Nurse to work 2
days a week alongside our Senior Practice Nurse and HCA.
The post-holder has a key role to play, delivering high quality care to
all our patients; in the provision of assessment, treatment, screening, health
education services, advice to patients and all other areas as part of your
day-to-day role. You will have the required level of training and competence
and work within patient group directions where these are available.
The nursing team is led by a Partner, providing guidance and support
where required.
The selection process
for this role will include a minimum of 2 people at the interview which will be
week commencing 8th April
Main duties of the job
uties of the successful applicant will include (this list is not
exhaustive)
General Treatment Room Duties BP Checks, suture removal, minor injuries,
routine injections, phlebotomy, ECG, urinalysis, wound care
Cervical Screening
Child Immunisations
Routine immunisations / vaccinations
Contraception
Long term conditions particularly Diabetes.
Assisting with IUCD/IUS fittings
Assisting with QOF

Job Summary
To provide nursing services to patients on the practice list,
including assessment, advice within the professional competence of the post
holder, screening and treatment. Extra training will be provided for new duties
undertaken. The post holder will work in accordance with NMC Code of Conduct.
Key Responsibilities
Provides care directly to
patients without referral via another senior nurse or doctor.
To undertake general nursing
duties within the nursing team, including:
o Immunisations/Baby Imms
o Cervical smears
o Contraception advice and pill
checks
o Spirometry
o Diabetes with Warwick diploma or
similar
o Treatment room
o Chronic disease management
particularly respiratory - preferable with a diploma in asthma/COPD.
o To work to practice protocols and
guidelines.

screening to the practice population (within agreed protocols)
with referral to general practitioners as necessary.
Advise patients on general
health and minor ailments with referral to general practitioners as necessary

protocols.
Implement a systematic
approach to care, to include efficient and accurate record keeping for the benefit
and safety of patients/clients, continuity of care and professional security.
Assist with the development
of work practices within agreed policies to provide the optimum standards of
care.
