Due to the rapid expansion of
Bicester and Heyford Park we have anything up to 8 sessions available. The
population served is generally young with a low deprivation index. Work load is
under control as is work life balance. The team is supportive and innovative
with a mentoring ethos.
Alchester Medical Group is
currently working across two main sites in Bicester town and one sub-branch at
Heyford Park where we have just opened our own brand-new state of the art
Pharmacy. We have a plan of refurbishment for our two main locations which will
bring us right up to date. This will help us further develop and embrace
innovative ways of working and to influence, design and expand local services. It
is a very exciting time and, working in one of the UKs 10 Healthy New Towns

Support the GP partners
Manage clinical caseload
Assist in developing appropriate healthcare
services for a diverse semi-rural patient list
MAIN DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES
1.
In general, the post-holder will be expected to
undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP
working within primary care, including surgery consultations, telephone
calls, home visits, dealing with prescriptions, blood results and
correspondence.
2.
Take
on a patient list of a size appropriate to the number of sessions worked and
be responsible for the routine care of those patients.
3.
Taking
duty doctor sessions as per the GP rota.
4.
Support
extended hours duties as agreed, from time to time.
5.
Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation
notes to agreed standards.
6.
Prescriptions and prescribing in accordance with
the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is
clinically appropriate.
7.
Ensure
accurate recording of data to maximise QOF points
8.
Ensuring that all work carried out which carries
a private fee is properly recouped and accounted for; eg. Medical Reports,
Insurance reports, private letters to 3rd Parties etc
9.
Collecting data for audit purposes.
10.
Maintain
mandatory training
11.
Contribute
to continuous improvement and change activities. Support colleagues and the team in line
with the vision and strategy
12.
To
work in accordance with written protocols, including CQC, prescribing,
confidentiality, health and safety, equality and diversity so forth (this is
