An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Medical Administrator to join our busy but friendly team.
Applicants must be self-motivated, able to work under pressure, eager to learn and have excellent communication and IT skills. This busy and varied role requires the ability to work as part of a team and the ability to prioritise own workload without direct supervision.
Experience of working in General Practice or other NHS setting is preferable, however full training will be given.
This role requires a flexible approach to working to provide additional cover when required and the ability to adapt to change.
Main duties of the job
To provide general administrative assistance to the practice team including:
- Scanning and read coding of medical records ensuring date is accurately recorded
- Processing referrals
- Handling incoming queries via telephone/email
- Facilitate communication between patients, members of the Primary Care Team, Secondary Care and other agencies.
- Actioning electronic tasks
- Work to practice policies and protocols.

Moreton Medical Centre is a busy but friendly 2 Partner GP Practice with a practice population of approximately 5400 patients.
Our clinical team consists of 2 Partners, Salaried GP's, ACP and Practice Nurses. We are also a training practice and currently have 3 GP Trainees.

- Process, monitor and action online consultations
- Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information
- Scanning of patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients healthcare records
- Process referrals to external agencies such as secondary care
- Input data into the patients healthcare records as necessary
- Action GP2GP tasks
- Process referrals using the electronic referral system (ERS)
- Process requests for information i.e. SAR, insurance / solicitors letters and DVLA forms
- Process incoming e-test results, ensuring they are referred to the relevant clinician
- Read code data on Emis Web
- Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately
- Manage all administrative queries as necessary
- Processing incoming and outgoing mail
- File and store records as required
- Photocopy documentation as required
- Process clinical letters
- Carry out system searches as requested
- Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
- Support all clinical staff with general administrative tasks as requested
- Process all DNA letters in accordance with current protocol
- Adhoc reception cover where required.
