Job summary

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Administation team. To deliver a high quality support to both patients and colleagues with experience of working in a GP surgery although an advantage not essential.

Your excellent communication and organisational skills will provide a key function to the administration team in the practice.You must be flexible and adaptable to be able to cover sickness and annual leave.

The practice consists of 9 GP Partners, a Clinical Pharmacist team, 2 Paramedics, Nurses, HCA's and other clinicians from our Primary Care Network. We are also a GP Training Practice.

This is a busy and forward thinking practice with a good support network.

Main duties of the job

The role will include among other duties:

- Scanning documents- Experience of using Emis to access patient notes and run searches- Workflow clinical letters using Docman- Answering patient calls when needed- Answering patient emails via our Practice Email Inbox- Patient Note Summarising

About us

We are a busy training Practice of nearly 16,000 patients, we are a semi rural area with a dispensary and services that come in such as physiotherapists and midwives along with Registrar GPs when they come to do their training with us.

The atmosphere whilst busy is friendly and positive. Flexible working is accommodated where possible. You will be working in very supportive and inclusive team of 8 other people who will be there to help you settle in.

An office administrator is responsible for the following:-

  • Workflow in Docman to process clinical documents and file them onto patient notes.
  • Summarise notes that come in from other surgeries to make sure they are correct and coded onto Emis, which is our patient database software.
  • Assist in scanning, telephone enquiries, generic email and any other such duties to assist the smooth running of the practice.
