Job summary
We are currently looking to recruit a friendly, reliable, enthusiastic and hard-working Medical Receptionist to work in a friendly GP practice.
The ideal candidate should be highly motivated and able to work under pressure to provide best patient service. Must have excellent communication skills and a can-do approach to their work. They must be able to work well on their own, as well as being an integral part of our larger practice team.
Experience of working in GP practice is desirable but not mandatory.
We as a team have high work ethos and expect the new team member to have the same.
The post is for 30hrs/week. The practice business hours are Monday & Wednesday 8am to 8pm, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday- 8am to 7pm. The distribution of these hours are mutually agreed, during Practice working hours and will include Saturdays and Sundays as required. Please only apply if you can work during the hours.

Main duties of the job
Greeting in a pleasant and friendly manner all callers at reception.
Answering the telephone quickly and dealing with or redirecting enquiries.
Running the appointment system including making appointments and encouraging patients to use the check in system.
Recording messages and home visit requests in appropriate book legibly and accurately.
Handing out repeat prescriptions to patients or their representatives.

Handing general enquiries and give out test results or referring to a more experienced Receptionist or Doctor if in doubt.
