Job summary
We are currently looking to recruit friendly, reliable, enthusiastic and hard-working Medical Receptionist to work in a friendly GP practice.
The ideal candidate should be highly motivated and able to work under pressure to provide best patient service. Must have excellent communication skills and a can-do approach to their work. They must be able to work well on their own, as well as being an integral part of our larger practice team.
Experience of working in GP practice is desirable but not mandatory.
We as a team have high work ethos and expect the new team member to have the same.
The post is for 30hrs/week. The distribution of these hours will be mutually agreed, during Practice business working hours and will include Saturdays and Sundays as required.
Full training will be provided. Excellent pension scheme offered.
Main duties of the job
- Greeting in a pleasant and friendly manner all callers at reception.
- Answering the telephone quickly and dealing with or redirecting enquiries.
- Making appointments for patients and encouraging patients to use the check in system.
- Registering new patients including ensuring the Practice guidelines are followed for acceptance of new patients and all paperwork is in order.
- Recording messages and home visit requests in the appropriate book legibly and accurately.
- Handing out repeat prescriptions to patients.
- Opening mail and distributing it.
- Carry out other tasks as requested by the Practice Managers, Senior Receptionist, and Medical staff.
