Job summary

Due to a long term member of staff retiring an opportunity has become available for a healthcare assistant to become part of our general practice team. We are searching for a friendly, motivated and dedicated individual who is a team player.

The role will be offered at 30 37.5 hours which will be Monday to Friday and salary will be dependant on experience.

Depending on applicants, we may be open to job share.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be a healthcare assistant and be part of the nursing team. The healthcare assistant would need as a minimum experience of carrying out health checks and is trained or be willing to train to carry out venepuncture, simple wounds and flu vaccinations. Training for these tasks can be provided if necessary.

In your role as HCA you will benefit from close support from the other HCAs and nursing members as well as the wider practice team. You would attend clinical team meetings, educational sessions and nurse meetings. On appointment you will have a short varied induction into the practice and support will always be available when needed from our nursing team.

About us

Wincobank Medical Centre is in the north of Sheffield and is part of the Foundry Primary Care Network. We are a friendly, forward thinking teaching practice which consists of 3 GP partners,5 salaried GPs, ACP, 3 practice nurses, 3 HCAs and a clinical pharmacy team. The work is always interesting and often challenging however it is also hugely rewarding. The team is supportive, with excellent and experienced clinical support on site who have a passion for improving health outcomes for patients.
