Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a SALARIED GP with potential for partnership opportunity to join our team.

6 sessions per week worked on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, commencing mid November.

Well established, highly motivated, friendly practice serving 6800 patients with a growing list, located in the market town of Shrewsbury.

The Practice received an Outstanding CQC rating in January 2020.

We currently have 2 partners, one of whom is due to retire in November, who are supported by a skilled team of practice nurses, HCA, salaried GPs, a practice pharmacist and administration staff.

Main duties of the job

We offer you attractive sessions, 15 minute face-to-face scheduled appointments.

We are a member of the Shrewsbury PCN with access to a number of ARRS staff including pharmacy team, first contact practitioners, social prescribers, mental health workers, home visiting team.

You will be asked to take a share of admin on the day to include some Docman/lab results/scrips.

We ask that you have great interpersonal skills and a willingness to be reliable, flexible and a positive member of our team.

Registered GP with the GMC and possess the right to work in the UK

About us

Belvidere Medical Practice is a well established practice with an increasing list size, currently 6850. We are located in a residential area of Shrewsbury. We are a friendly, approachable and caring team who treat all our patients with equal dignity and respect.

The Practice maintained it's Outstanding CQC rating in January 2020.

To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract. Furthermore, the post-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.

Primary Responsibilities

The following are the core responsibilities of the salaried GP. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:

a. The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population

b. The provision of services commensurate with the GMS contract

c. Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance

d. Effective management of long-term conditions

e. Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks

f. Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance

g. Working collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload

h. Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process

i. Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice

j. Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) of the QOF

k. Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required

l. Contribute effective to the development and maintenance of the practice including; clinical governance, training, financial management and HR

m. Ensure compliance with the appraisal process
