Job summary

We are seeking a proactive motivated and conscientious Practice Manager to join our friendly team who will bring enthusiasm and commitment to the role

We operate from purpose built premises, providing care for around 10,000 patients. We are a training practice for GP's and medical students.

We are looking for a Practice Manager with excellent interpersonal skills and leadership qualities, good IT skills.

Previous NHS experience in Primary Care, along with experience of EMIS Web are preferable.

Good communication skills, both written and verbal are required for this post, together with excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to deliver agreed objectives within agreed time frames.

A sound knowledge of governance and risk will also be required for this post.

The role will involve working closely with the GP Partners and also with our Primary Care Network, GP Federation, ICB and other stakeholders.

Main duties of the job

Duties and responsibilities to include (this list is not exhaustive)

Day-to-day operational oversight , ensuring staff achieve their primary responsibilities in line with their roles.Providing leadership and guidance to appropriate staff ensuring that they adhere to policy and procedure at all times

b. .Overseeing the administrative elements of QOF and other performance targets, liaising with GPs, nurses, pharmacists, HCA and non-clinical staff. Guiding the team to reach QOF and other performance targets

c.Reviewing and implementing systems to ensure compliance with CQC regulations and standards

d.Reviewing and regularly updating job descriptions and person specifications in conjunction with our HR advisor and with the approval of the GP Partners. Ensuring staff are legally and gainfully employed including locum/sessional staff.

e. Management of the clinical system, ensuring IT security and IG compliance at all times and responding to and resolving local IT issues. Working with the ICB IT team and other colleagues

f. Guiding staff and developing searches and audits on the clinical system

g. Ensure that the training and educational needs of all staff grades in line with current guidance/regulations, and that staff are compliant

Review and develop practice policies and procedures in line withcurrentregulations/legislation/guidance

Ensure service development and delivery is in accordance with local and national guidelines. Ensure that practice complies with NHSE contractual obligations.

Multi-disciplinary clinical team of GPs, Practice Nurses, ANP, Diabetes Specialist Nurse, Clinical Pharmacist, HCA. Non-clinical team reception,/admin, medical secretary and GP assistant.

ARRS team of care-coordinator, Social Prescribing Team, Clinical Pharmacists, First Contact Physiotherapists, Mental Health Practitioner, CYP Mental Health Practitioner.

Work closely with our PCN and Local Federation.
