Job summary

Full Time Senior Medical Administrator Vacancy

Christiana Hartley Medical Practice requires an experienced, full time senior medical administrator to join our well established and busy surgery team.

We are looking for a motivated, hardworking individual with excellent communication skills; who is able to work under pressure and with initiative. Previous experience of working within the administration team of a GP Practice is essential.

Main duties of the job

Duties include the following:

  • Opening up/locking-up of Practice premises and maintaining security in accordance with Practice protocols
  • Administrative and clerical support to the clinical, management and administration team.
  • Take responsibility of specific areas within Emis workflow, including processing onward referrals.
  • Meet and greet patients in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Processing personal and telephone requests for appointments, visits and telephone consultations. Ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professional.
  • Processing and distributing incoming (and outgoing) mail
  • Taking messages and passing on information
  • Use practice emails and intranet, while adhering to strict guidelines.
  • Processing repeat prescriptions in accordance with Practice guidelines.
  • Computer data entry/data allocation and collation; processing and recording information in accordance with Practice procedures.
  • To signpost patients to other services, where appropriate.
  • Comply with health and safety policies and procedures
