Job summary
We are a CQC Outstanding practice seeking our final piece of the team jigsaw. We are looking for a dynamic addition to our nursing team due to staff development and the growth of the Practice list size. The list is currently 6900 and growing. The vacancy is for 26 hours per week over 4 days (Mon to Thurs). The successful candidate will be well supported, working alongside a second nurse. This is a rare opportunity as we very rarely recruit. Milnrow Village Practice is a supportive and happy place to be and the team we have are all long serving members of the team. We have plans for new purpose built premises, work on which is due to start this year... and we think its an exciting time for the right person to join us. The successful candidate will help to maintain the quality of the service that we strive to deliver and contribute towards the development of the practice in line with future initiatives and challenges. The salary is dependent upon experience.
Main duties of the job
To provide and maintain a high standard of nursing care for patients, as well as providing nursing assistance to the doctors and other members of the primary healthcare team. The duties will include all tasks normally undertaken by an experienced practice nurse and any additional roles agreed between the nurse and the doctors as appropriate, having regard to current training.
The successful candidate will be actively involved in chronic disease management (QOF), childhood immunisations and adult vaccinations, Contraception, Cervical cytology, NHS health checks. Also assist the GP with Minor surgery and IUCD fittings.
Time management, good communication skills and ability to use initiative are important to us.
Experience in the use of EMIS Web is preferred.
Qualified Prescriber and knowledge of searches in EMIS would be an advantage (but not essential)
About us
The clinical team comprises of 5 GPs (Two male and 3 female), an Advanced Clinical Practitioner, soon to be 2 nurses, HCA, and Phlebotomist. We also host a variety of staff from our PCN including pharmacists, physiotherapists, paramedic, TNA, NA and student counsellor. The admin support consists of 8 receptionists, secretary, Data Quality, Summariser and Practice Manager. The team achieves great things together and always give over and above for our patients. NHS choices feedback is consistently high and patients are supportive of the practice. It is a fantastic place to be and a great team to be part of. Informal visits to the practice are welcome and make an ideal opportunity to gain a feel for the practice and to meet the team.
