Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Physician Associate to join our
PCN but working solely at Sherburn and Rillington Medical Practice. You will be
responsible for the provision of a clinical service, working as part of the
practice multidisciplinary team, delivering care within your scope of practice
to our patient population. You will be required to work autonomously in the
practice, providing a range of services such as assessment, diagnosis,
treatment, telephone triage, clinical decision-making and referring patients
appropriately, as well as supporting the management team in the reviewing of
clinical policy and procedure when required.
Main duties of the job
You will provide care for the presenting patient from initial history
taking and clinical assessment through to the diagnosis, treatment and
evaluation of care. You will be able to demonstrate critical thinking in the
clinical decision-making process, including assessment and diagnostic skills,
leading to the delivery of safe care for all patients. Working collaboratively
with the healthcare team to meet the needs of the patients, supporting the
delivery of policy and procedures. You will provide a holistic and clinical
service, with support from GPs as required, implementing agreed management plans
and following approved protocols as appropriate. You may be expected to carry
out some home visits and consult with patients who present on the day and via
booked appointments. You will also review and act appropriately on blood
results and referrals/correspondence regarding patients.
About us
We are a well-regarded dispensing practice, based in two
villages covering a resilient rural community on the edge of the Yorkshire
Wolds. We have a growing list size of
5500 team. Our clinical team consists of
4 GP Partners, a Salaried GP, a Physician Associate, 3 highly trained Practice
Nurses, a Trainee Nursing Associate and a Phlebotomist. Within our PCN we have clinical support from
First Contact Physiotherapists, Clinical Pharmacists, a Mental Health Wellbeing
Practitioner and a Social Prescribing Link Worker.

PA would be expected in time to participate in the duty rota at the practice.
Mentorship and supervision will be provided by designated
senior medical personnel. The level and type of supervision will be dependent
on the post holders acquisition of skills and knowledge and determined by the
organizations clinical governance arrangements.
