An exciting opportunity to join a small, friendly, yet dynamic practice based in the beautiful location of Torrington, Devon. With just under 7,000 patients at Castle Gardens Surgery this is a unique opportunity to work for a high performing practice that places an emphasis on patient care.
We are looking for a proactive manager with a proven track record in strategic leadership, finance, HR and operational management ideally from a primary care setting.
As Practice Manager you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the management of the practice, ensuring the skill mix of our team promotes efficient process for effective patient care, clinical and administrative workflow. Excellent communication and leadership skills are essential.
In addition, we are looking for someone who will continue to drive the practice forward by identifying and acting on practice and business opportunities and partnerships.
Castle Gardens Surgery is part of Torridge Health PCN working alongside our colleagues at Torrington Health Centre, Bideford Medical Centre, Wooda Surgery, Northam Medical Centre, and Hartland Surgery.

Main duties of the job
Main Duties -The Practice Manager will ensure that the practices physical and financial resources are managed and maintained for maximum effectiveness for the clinical team and patients but also maximising the practice income.
Managing Access to Services and Developing Patient Services -The Practice Manager will be responsible for ensuring that patients are able to access the services.
Optimising Resources: IT and information -The Practice Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the practices IT resources (hardware and software and data) are effectively managed and maintained to protect the integrity of patient records and other records .
Managing Risk -The Practice Manager will ensure that potential risks to the practice and its work, .
Leading Change -The Practice Manager will ensure that changes in the practice are led and managed in an effective manner to ensure successful outcomes.
Improving Quality -The Practice Manager will support the practice in ensuring that patient care is delivered to the best possible quality.
Training and Developing Others -The Practice Manager will ensure that practice staff perform to the best of their ability in their roles
Patient Complaints -The Practice Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all patient complaints are handled in accordance with the practice complaints procedure.
HR Management -The Practice Manager will ensure that the practices staff team is able to deliver the services required .
