Job summary
We are seeking a full time Practice Secretary to work in a busy NHS GP Surgery in Eltham, 37.5 hours per week 5 days a week. Applicants must be willing to work flexible hours and to cover staff holidays.
We are looking for candidates who are professional, friendly, have a good telephone manner and take pride in their work. You will be the main point of contact for the patients in our surgery in connection with their referrals and need to make a good lasting impression. You must have excellent computer skills. Full training will be provided on our EMIS WEB clinical system. You will be allocating incoming documents and results to the on call doctor.
Main duties of the job
Action tasks as required
Maintain audit data re hospital DNAs
Update EDT docman letters daily/update website information
Maintain address book on computer system
Monitor progress of 2 week cancer referrals
Type letters, reports and other documents as required by
the partners, Practice manager and other team members
Liaise with hospital and community departments regarding
patient care, appointments, etc, incorporating ERS
Ensure telephone enquiries are dealt with in a courteous
and timely manner and take messages as appropriate
Circulate agendas and take Minutes of meetings as required
Process all incoming and outgoing mail
Maintain referrals database
Send and receive emails/faxes
Undertake photocopying as required
