GP Receptionist Full-Time and Part-Time Positions Available

Join our friendly and supportive GP Surgery team as a Receptionist! You'll be the first point of contact for patients, delivering excellent customer service while managing key administrative tasks to support our clinicians and staff.

About You:

  • Previous experience in a GP practice is essential.
  • Emis Trained
  • Professional, discreet, and capable of handling sensitive information responsibly.

Role Details:

  • Rotational shifts: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM.
  • Positions: 1 Full-Time (37.5 hours) and 1 Part-Time (22.5 hours).

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities

  1. Patient Interaction
    • Greet patients and visitors warmly upon arrival.
    • Handle telephone and in-person inquiries professionally and efficiently.
    • Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments using the practice's system.
    • Provide information about the practice's services and procedures.
  2. Administrative Duties
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring confidentiality.
    • Process patient registrations, including verifying personal details.
    • Manage correspondence such as emails, letters, and referrals.
    • Handle repeat prescription requests in line with practice policies.
    • File and retrieve patient records and documents as needed.
  3. Operational Support
    • Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and appointment scheduling.
    • Assist with preparing rooms and equipment for clinics when necessary.
    • Record and manage patient arrivals and waiting lists.
    • Address patient complaints or direct them to appropriate staff for resolution.
  4. Compliance and Confidentiality
    • Adhere to all practice policies, including confidentiality and GDPR regulations.
    • Ensure infection control measures are followed in the reception area.

  • Hours: Full-time/part-time as required, including occasional evenings or weekends.
  • Environment: Office-based, within a GP surgery.
  • Physical Requirements: Periods of sitting at a desk and interacting with patients, occasional light lifting.
