GP Receptionist Full-Time and Part-Time Positions Available
Join our friendly and supportive GP Surgery team as a Receptionist! You'll be the first point of contact for patients, delivering excellent customer service while managing key administrative tasks to support our clinicians and staff.
About You:
- Previous experience in a GP practice is essential.
- Emis Trained
- Professional, discreet, and capable of handling sensitive information responsibly.
Role Details:
- Rotational shifts: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM.
- Positions: 1 Full-Time (37.5 hours) and 1 Part-Time (22.5 hours).

Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Interaction
- Greet patients and visitors warmly upon arrival.
- Handle telephone and in-person inquiries professionally and efficiently.
- Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments using the practice's system.
- Provide information about the practice's services and procedures.
- Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring confidentiality.
- Process patient registrations, including verifying personal details.
- Manage correspondence such as emails, letters, and referrals.
- Handle repeat prescription requests in line with practice policies.
- File and retrieve patient records and documents as needed.
- Operational Support
- Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and appointment scheduling.
- Assist with preparing rooms and equipment for clinics when necessary.
- Record and manage patient arrivals and waiting lists.
- Address patient complaints or direct them to appropriate staff for resolution.
- Compliance and Confidentiality
- Adhere to all practice policies, including confidentiality and GDPR regulations.
- Ensure infection control measures are followed in the reception area.
