The Ransome Practice is looking to recruit part time Medical Receptionist/Care Navigator to join our well organised and friendly team.

Main duties of the job
The role is to support the practice clinical team by signposting patients to the appropriate healthcare professional or service, working as part of the practices multidisciplinary team.
The successful candidate will be expected to undertake reception duties and administrative duties and support the team in delivering a polite and professional service to our patient population.
Duties will include:
Meet and greet patients and check in as they arrive at the Practice
Dealing with all general enquiries either over the telephone or in person
Answer/make phone calls and navigate patients to appropriate services or persons
Action repeat prescription requests promptly following Practice protocols
Enter data into Practice computer system (Emis Web)
General administrative duties as required.
The successful candidate:
will need excellent keyboard skills.
have excellent communication skills and be able to show empathy and patience at all times.
Previous NHS experience desirable.

The following are the core responsibilities of the Medical Receptionist/Care Navigator. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent on factors such as workload and staffing levels:
- Process and effectively signpost patients to the appropriate healthcare professional
- Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers requests appropriately and efficiently
- Process patient requests for appointments
- Process repeat prescription requests
- Respond to requests from patients, team members and external agencies.
- Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required
- Input data into the patients healthcare records as necessary
- Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner
- Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
- Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested
- Action incoming emails
- Other general administrative duties as required
