STARTING SALARY: £27,055
This is a hugely exciting opportunity to work
innovatively with a range of partner organisations to enhance the experience of
patients within the area of Central and West Wight PCN and work collaboratively
with the PCN team to help design and refine the way we develop and deliver care
within our primary care network
The successful candidate
will have great relational and communication skills, will be highly organised
and motivated to deliver projects and services on plan on target and time and
will have a good understanding of primary care services & community health
services.
Main duties of the job
Provide operational and administrative support to the Business
Manager and Primary Care Network practices to enable it to deliver the PCN
Direct Enhanced Service framework (DES), progress through the maturity matrix
and meet the strategic aims set out by the practices.
To work with the Business Manager and team to ensure that the
PCN Additional Roles are well supported on a day-to-day basis and the network
is able to make full use of their potential.
To work with the PCN Board and all network practices to help
develop and embed joint systems of working both between practices and with
other system providers (acute, community, mental health and third sector).
The role will report to the PCN Business
Manager and be accountable to the PCN Board, working with all the Practice
Managers and partners of the surgeries within the PCN.
About us
The Central and West Wight Health Alliance PCN comprises three practices: Newport Health Centre, Cowes Medical Centre and Brookside Health Centre in Freshwater.
Whilst being based at Brookside Health Centre in Freshwater, the post holder will work across the three Central and West
Wight PCN practices (Cowes, Newport and Brookside - Freshwater) and will be
required to travel from practice to practice within the PCN area during
fulfilment of their duties, therefore a full clean driving license is
essential, plus access to a reliable vehicle.

Job responsibilities
General PCN support and administration including but not limited to:
- Diarising and administrating meetings, including accurate, concise minute taking.
- Supporting the PCN Business manager and practices with the day-to-day operations of the PCN
- Supporting and facilitating the recruitment and onboarding process for new members of staff internally and externally and supporting the induction of new members of staff including all relevant professional checks have been undertaken.
- Supporting the organization of PCN protected learning time, education and training working closely with the education leads
- Ensuring an action and risk log is maintained action log items are progressed
- Compiling newsletters and PCN-wide communications and supporting internal and external communication
- Compiling and presenting searches and reports as required eg. impact and investment fund searches
- Ensuring financial information is recorded and filed correctly
- Ensuring distribution lists are kept up to date
- To communicate risks and issues via the business manager
- Supporting the PCN business manager to monitor the DES workstreams
- Responding to patient enquiries
- Co-ordinating PCN Projects such as Enhanced Access, Enhanced Health in Care Homes, Impact and Investment fund work streams, Tackling Health Inequalities, integrated neighbourhood working.
- Supporting the business manager with the development of business cases and identifying funding
- Deputising for the Business manager as required.
- Attend meetings internally and externally as required by the PCN business Manager.
Project specific
The post holder will be required to co-ordinate specific projects required under the PCN DES contract, this will include the provision of the Enhanced Access Service. Specific duties pertaining to this service will include:
- Co-ordination of rotas to ensure full compliance with the service specification and DES contract.
- Onboarding of staff from across the PCN to support the service
- Supporting external recruitment to the service
- Collation of data pertaining to service delivery and ensuring requests for monitoring information from the PCN and ICB are provided within required timescales.
- Evaluation of service delivery including patient participation surveys and collating and escalating patient feedback and complaints where necessary.
- Ensuring that appointment books are set up correctly and are mapped for GPAD and APEX.
- Ensuring the necessary system interoperability is in place for practices to work as one integrated hub.
- Collation of financial information, including supporting staff and practices with the generation of invoices relating work undertaken
- Provide regular financial updates to the PCN business manager and ensure that all costs are subject to prior approval from the business manager and/or board.
- Supporting the lead practice with ensuring payments to practices and individuals are made in a timely manner.
- On the day coordination of clinics to include regular weekend and evening working.
- Supporting practices with opening and closing sites as required and ensuring governance and health and safety policies are adhered to according to the practice processes.
- Develop and sustain positive working relationships with colleagues across the Isle of Wights three PCNs, pursuing ways of working collaboratively as appropriate.
