Job summary
The purpose of this role is to provide a comprehensive pharmacy service to the patients of Chipping Norton Health Centre.
This role is pivotal in improving the quality of care and operational efficiencies, thus requiring motivation and passion to deliver an excellent service within general practice.
Main duties of the job
The post holder is a GPhC registered pharmacy technician. They will be part of a multi-professional NHS team in general practice, providing clinical pharmacy services to our registered patients. The post holder will assist patients in optimising their medication use through timely medicine reconciliation after discharge and during other transfers of care, conducting medication reviews, identifying patients suitable for electronic repeat dispensing, promoting online ordering, ensuring monitoring of high-risk drugs, and managing prescription queries within their areas of competence. Additionally, the role will involve the training and development of practice-based prescribing clerks and administrators to enhance coordination and effective pharmacy administration within general practice, particularly concerning repeat prescribing systems and processes. The post holder must enrol upon or apply to be exempted from the CPPE 15 month primary care pharmacy education pathway.
Additionally, the post holder will be responsible for fostering a better understanding of the principles of medicines optimisation among the practice teams and promoting best practices in accordance with therapeutic advancements. This will entail supporting the clinical pharmacist team in meeting national service specification requirements, implementing NICE guidance, and utilising medicines optimisation initiatives.

Our diverse population includes a significant proportion of elderly patients. We have an excellent PCN Clinical Pharmacy team - one of the largest in Oxfordshire comprising Senior Clinical Pharmacists, Clinical Pharmacists, and a PCN Pharmacy Technician.
