Job summary

Southmead Surgery is a 3 partner practice, with on-site parking, based in the village of Farnham Common, looking after 6,800 patients. We are looking for an HCA, with experience of working in a GP surgery, for 4-6 sessions per week. We can offer a flexible working pattern.

Main duties of the job

Duties and responsibilities:

Health checks, including BP checks, BMI, urinalysis

  • ECGs
  • Phlebotomy
  • Diabetic Clinic Part 1 Year of Care
  • B12 injections
  • Flu /Pneumonia/Shingles Injections
  • Wound care following initial assessment by Practice Nurse
  • Removal of sutures/clips/staples
  • Chaperoning duties
  • Fridge temperature monitoring & recording fridge data logger
  • Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted
  • Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well

About us

We are a small, friendly team with a low staff turnover and the position works under a very experienced practice nurse lead.

We offer 5 weeks annual leave pro rata and a competitive salary.

  • B12, shingles, flu & pneumonia injections
  • Basic IT skills
  • Familiar with EMIS
