A great opportunity to join an Independent Pharmacy team in Ealing / West London in a busy community pharmacy with a friendly team. As a Trainee Pharmacy Technician, you will be an important member of the team, giving great service and helping to create loyal customers that come back time and time again. This is a 2-year apprenticeship training course which includes 1 day a week of paid studying for a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians whilst you work.

Main duties of the job
THE ROLE
A typical week will include 1 day a week studying a
distance learning course, up to 4 days a week working and gaining experience in
the pharmacy, and up to 2 days a week working in the GP Surgery linked to the
pharmacy.
You will have a pharmacist educational supervisor
who will guide you through the course and train you on the job.
In the pharmacy you will be giving patients advice, dispensing prescriptions,
organising the dispensary and providing personalised solutions that help
patients. You will be trained on supporting the pharmacist to provide a range
of pharmacy services such as vaccinations, blood pressure checks and minor
illness clinics.
In the GP surgery you will manage patient requests for prescriptions, reconcile
medications following discharge from hospital or following up out-patient
appointments, contact patients to ensure they understand any changes to their
medication and liaise with community pharmacies.
You will need to have confidence, be a team player, self-motivated, with good
customer skills and the ability to communicate well with patients. Strong IT
skills and the ability to learn fast are essential. You must have a desire to
grow and develop quickly.
This is a fixed term contract for 2 years with a possibility of a permanent
role after registering as a qualified Pharmacy technician with the General
Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). You will also become an accuracy checking
technician who will undertake final checks on prescriptions.

The pharmacy is a modern & very clinical pharmacy with a highly trained
team. The pharmacy has a Pharmacy Robot that supports the dispensing process.
The pharmacy has a number of services it delivers successfully and wants to
grow these even further including, Travel, Flu & covid Vaccinations, Minor
illness clinics and a variety of services that support compliance such as BP
Checks, OC, NMS & DMS services.
The pharmacy is open Mon-Fri 8.45am to 7.00pm. (Sat 9.00 to 5.00pm)
You will be required to work a total of 40 hours a week with alternate
Saturdays. We will agree the working patterns after a discussion with you to
ensure they meet your needs too.

approx 15,000 patients across a catchment area in the Ealing Borough.
Gordon House Surgery is an accredited training
practice, we train GP Registrars, Nurses, Pharmacists, HCAs and refugee GPs via
training schemes. We have a friendly ethos and training is at the forefront of
