Job summary

An opening has arisen for a medical receptionist to join our friendly reception team. The role requires provision of high-quality service to patients of the practice, undertaking reception duties to include, but not limited to:

  • Opening and closing up
  • Welcoming and recording arrival of patients for appointments
  • Dealing with deliveries and collections, including taking and recording of payments

Experience in a similar role would be desirable; however, full training is available for the right applicant.

Ideally we are looking for someone who can work around 20 hours per a week, although we are flexible for the right candidate. Working pattern to be agreed at interview. Ad-hoc additional hours will be a regular, variable, requirement agreed in advance.

To meet practice demand an occasional Saturday may be required.

Interviews will take place on w/c 15th May 2023

To offer general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.

To receive, assist and direct patients in a courteous, efficient and effective way in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional.

To undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice including the provision of secretarial and clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the practice team.

To facilitate effective communication between patients, members of the primary health care team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies.
