Job summary
Trent Valley Surgery is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Prescribing Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to join our friendly team, you will work as part of a clinical team which includes 3 GP's and 1 ANP in managing acute daily demand.
This is a permanent position to work 4 sessions per week.
Main duties of the job
In this role you will work independently, making professional, autonomous decisions.
- You will be responsible for making any necessary referrals, requests for investigations and do these in in an appropriate manner and timescale.
- The role will involve initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment plan and evaluation of patient care.
- The role will involve independent prescribing within the scope of professional practice.
- The advanced nurse practitioner will support the GP team managing same day appointment requests from patients.
- The nurse practitioner will need to prioritise and triage the needs of patients accordingly, seeking GP input as appropriate where the problem lies outside their professional capability.
- You will demonstrate safe clinical decision making and a high level of independent care including assessment, diagnostic and prescribing skills.
- You will attend patients with urgent medical problems

The main surgery is based in Saxilby and we have a branch surgery in Torksey. We are a training Practice working with training GPs and medical students.

Clinically examine and assess patient needs from a physiological and psychological perspective, and plan clinical care accordingly

Proactively identify, diagnose and manage treatment plans for patients at risk of developing a long-term condition (as appropriate)

Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately to assist the patient in complex, urgent or emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergency care
