Job summary
Due to maternity leave, we are looking to recruit a part time medical receptionist to join our busy yet supportive and friendly practice. The ideal candidate will have experience of working in general practice and of EMIS system as well as flexibility to offer cover for colleagues annual leave and sickness.
Main duties of the job
To process incoming and outgoing telephone calls, ensuring that callers are answered promptly, courteously.
To care navigate calls to use available resources appropriately.
To receive and direct patients and visitors to the practice promptly and courteously
Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone
To work closely with the other reception staff to ensure the smooth running of reception and efficient delivery of services to the patients
To book appointments and contact patients when required
To complete patient-related tasks in a timely manner
To register new patients, and process information such as change of address
To process repeat prescription requests

We have a list size of 9200 patients and are based in semi-rural Rossendale. We are an organised, forward thinking practice with a team consisting of GPs, Practice Nurses, HCAs, PA, Physio, reception teams and maintenance team. This is a very busy
