Practice Phlebotomist

Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Phlebotomist to join our friendly primary care team, 3 days a week. The successful candidate will provide high-quality venepuncture services for our patients, ensuring samples are collected, labelled, and processed accurately and efficiently.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Trained and competent in phlebotomy
  • Caring, professional, and patient-focused
  • Organised with good attention to detail
  • Able to work well as part of a team

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a GP surgery or NHS setting
  • Knowledge of SystmOne
  • Up-to-date basic life support training

Main duties of the job

Within this role, your key duties will be:

  • Carry out venepuncture on patients
  • Carry out blood pressure checks on patients
  • Ensure safe, accurate labelling and handling of specimens
  • Support patients with reassurance and advice
  • Maintain clinical records using our practice system
  • Work with the nursing and admin team to deliver excellent patient care

About us

Launceston Medical Centre is a busy committed team working together in a recently extended and refurbished Practice in Launceston.

We have 6 Partners and 7 Salaried GPs (including remote GPs) with very experienced Management, IT, Reception, and Administration support. Additional allied professionals who work within our team are our Clinical Psychologists, Pharmacist, and Social Prescribers. We are also proud to be a training practice.
