Job summary
Ashfield House Surgery is looking for a Reception Lead this role is crucial for the smooth operation of the front desk and providing excellent patient services. This role would be 36 hours a week over 4 days. Working hours 8.30am - 18.00pm
We are a friendly village practice with a patient size of just under 6000 patients.
The candidate must have experience and knowledge of policy and procedure implementation.

Main duties of the job
The receptionist Lead role will supervise and support the reception team, ensuring that all staff are trained and performing their duties effectively. You may be required to conduct team meetings to discuss updates, address issues and provide feedback.
Ensuring that patients receive a warm and professional welcome, both in person and over the phone.
Oversee the scheduling of patient appointments, ensuring that the system is managed efficiently and that patients are booked in a timely manner. Coordinate with clinical staff to manage appointment availability and address and scheduling conflicts.
You would be required to handle queries, complaints, and concerns efficiently and empathetically.
Ensure that patient records are accurately maintained and updated in the practice systems. Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails, letters and phone calls.
Ensure that reception staff adhere to practice policies and procedures, including confifentiality and data protection regulations.

Receptionist to join our current team. Excellent communication skills are
paramount with a caring friendly manner.

This is a very demanding role which requires accuracy, an
excellent telephone manner, computer & office skills, ability to multi task
& work to deadlines all within a team environment

population is just under 6000 and has a high level of chronic disease and
elderly patients who can often require visits. The surgery is based in a
converted house with 3 consulting rooms, treatment room & upstairs clinic
room and a team of friendly reception / admin staff to help support Clinicians.

This involves mentoring and supervising receptionists of the non-clinical team.

- Overseeing the running of day-to-day reception area.
- Delegating routine tasks, organising rotas to include holiday cover, following agreement with Reception Manager
- Liaising with management team concerning staffing and organisation of work
- Overseeing the training of new and existing members of the reception team

- Ensuring that cover is in place for sickness and holiday periods
