Job summary

As the backbone of our practice, the Branch Manager provides crucial support not only to our dedicated team of reception & administrative staff but also acts as the main point of contact for all stakeholders regarding operational matters. Your role will be essential in ensuring the seamless running of both our front-of-house and back reception duties, always upholding the highest standards of professionalism and quality in delivering patient services.

In this role, you will lead a dedicated and experienced team that is passionate about providing exceptional care to our community. Our staff members are our most valuable asset and as Branch Manager, you will ensure that together, you continue to meet the diverse needs of our patients with compassion, professionalism, and excellence. Your ability to motivate and guide our talented team is key to our practice's success.

Main duties of the job

  • Front of House Duties: Ensuring a welcoming, efficient, and effective service for all who walk through our doors.
  • Patient Services: Maintaining an outstanding level of service to our patients.
  • Clerical Services: Overseeing the day-to-day administrative duties that keep our practice running smoothly.
  • Human Resources: Managing personnel issues, fostering a supportive and productive work environment.
  • Communication: Ensuring clear, concise, and effective communication within the team and with external stakeholders.
  • Quality and Service Development: Continuously seeking ways to improve our services and implement best practices in all areas of the practice.
  • Health & Wellbeing Centre: You will also have a crucial role in the development of the practice as we move into the new 19 Hills Health & Wellbeing Centre (https://abuhb.nhs.wales/clinical-futures/developments/newport-east-health-and-wellbeing-centre/), in early 2025.

  • Previous experience in a reception or front-of-house role within a healthcare setting, demonstrating a capacity for high-quality patient service and efficient management of reception operations.
  • Proven experience in managing a team, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Experience in handling patient data and familiarity with healthcare operations, including appointment scheduling, patient registration, and managing patient queries.

Desirable

  • Experience working in a GP practice or similar healthcare setting.
  • Involvement in the development and implementation of practice policies and procedures.
