Job summary

Working as part of a team at our friendly single handed GP practice, provide a general enquiry service for patients utilising your excellent communication skills both face to face and on the telephone.

You must have the ability to multi-task in a busy environment, previous experience of working in General Practice would be an advantage but is not essential as the right candidate will receive appropriate training.

Main duties of the job

Reception/admin role

Booking/process patient appointments, handling prescription requests, offering advice and guidance, be able to cover reception position as necessary.

Deal with visit requests, registrations of new patients

To adhere to practice written protocols.

Job Summary:

Receive, assist, and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient, and effective way.

Provide general assistance to the Practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone/online.

Job Responsibilities:

Administration
  • To have a thorough knowledge of all Practice procedures.
  • To work in accordance with written protocols
  • Scanning documents / Incoming post

Reception
  • Receiving patients consulting with members of Practice team
  • Handing completed repeat prescriptions to patient and checking names and address.
  • Be able to cover all reception position as necessary
  • Offer advice and guidance

Appointments
  • Process appointment requests for today future appointments from patients by telephone and in person.
  • Deal with visits requests

Computer
  • Registrations of new patients computer data entry and medical records.
  • Process patients change of address computer data and medical records (have knowledge of Practice area.
  • Process repeat prescription request in accordance with Practice guidelines.
