Job summary

What you'll do:

  • Welcome patients warmly and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Handle incoming calls efficiently and direct them appropriately.
  • Schedule appointments, manage patient registrations, and process medical forms.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure data confidentiality.
  • Assist with administrative tasks
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.

Main duties of the job

  • Processing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription requests.
    • Handling incoming and outgoing mail and correspondence.
    • Managing appointment schedules and ensuring smooth clinic flow.
    • Assisting with administrative tasks such as filing
    • Assisting other members of the practice team as needed.
    • Ensuring the reception area is clean, tidy, and welcoming.
    • Adhering to practice policies and procedures.

    We are a large friendly practice with 23,500 patients based over two sites, we currently have 30 admin team members and are looking to recruit someone to join our work family.

    Qualifications

    Essential

    • GCSEs or equivalent experience including English and Maths.

    Desirable

    • Basic Computer/word processing qualification
    • ECDL or typing/word processing.
    • Experience of EMIS Web

    Experience

    Essential

    • Experience in a post with face to face contact with public.
    • General office duties experience.
    • IT skills.

    Desirable

    • Working with persons with health needs

    Knowledge and Skills

    Essential

    • Knowledge of General Practice
    • Patient confidentiality.
    • Good communication skills; able to communicate with people of all ages using various media.
    • Methodical
    • Calm under pressure.

    • Able to demonstrate empathy with service users.
