GP Surgery - Bank Advanced Practitioner
The closing date is 14 December 2025
Job summary
Were currently looking for Enhanced and/or Advanced Practitioners to join our bank team, supporting our same day / urgent care service across one or both of our sites.
Youll be joining a team that genuinely enjoys working together - where collaboration, learning, and mutual support are part of everyday life. We believe that when our clinicians feel valued and encouraged, our patients receive the very best care.
As an experienced Practitioner, youll work autonomously within your scope of practice, managing same day acute presentations and providing expert assessment, diagnostic reasoning, and treatment planning. Youll have the confidence and clinical competence to make safe, evidence-based decisions, and youll be supported by a friendly multidisciplinary team who are always happy to share knowledge and experience.
Once registered with our bank, youll receive shift notifications directly from our practice team - giving you the freedom to choose when and where you work. Theres no obligation to commit to specific shifts, just the flexibility to fit work around your lifestyle.
Main duties of the job
As a valued bank member of our clinical team, youll be joining a friendly, skilled, and well-supported clinical team that includes 13 GPs, 4 GP Registrars, and 6 Advanced Practitioners. We all work collaboratively with the whole surgery team to deliver outstanding care to our patients.
Youll see triaged same day patients with a wide variety of acute presentations, typically in 15-minute appointments, allowing you to provide safe, high-quality care while maintaining a manageable pace. We break for MDT coffee throughout the day to give you space to recharge and discuss cases with the team.
At St Marys and Priors Field Surgeries, we take great pride in fostering an environment where our clinicians can truly thrive. You will have access to a named supervisor for support, discussion, and debriefing, ensuring you always feel confident and well-connected within the team. The level of supervision will be tailored to your experience, so you will have the right balance of autonomy and guidance to perform at your best.
