Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Gough Walk Practice for a highly motivated and enthusiastic practice nurse to join our experienced clinical team.
Extended hours of operation includes Mon and Wednesday 0800-2000 and Saturday 0900-1700. The successful candidates will be be expected to contribute to extended access clinics.
Main duties of the job
Overall responsibility to manage and support patient with LTCs, participate in practice development and work with the practice call and recall teams to achieve set KPIs.
A registered practice nurse will be able to provide:
-Imms and Vaccs clinics
- wound care
-smears
- health promotion
-smoking cessation
-hold LTC clinics inc. DM, COPD, CVD etc
About us
Gough Walk Practice is based in a purpose built building adjacent to All Saints DLR in Poplar. The practice serves a varied population of 12000 in the heart of Tower Hamlets.
The practice boasts a clinical team of 11 GPs, practice nurse, pharmacists, PAs, HCA and a Nursing Associate. They are supported by an experienced administrative team of 10.

- Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by GPs
- Conducting LTC clinics
- Cytology
- Phlebotomy
- Ear irrigation
- Wound care / ulcer care/Doppler and Removal of Sutures/Venepuncture
- New Patient Medicals/Urinalysis
- ECGs/Asthma/Peak Flow Readings/Spirometry
- Routine immunizations/Childhood immunisations
- Assisting GPs with minor surgery
- Requesting pathology tests
- Hypertension Management, Diabetes or Coronary Heart Disease and Contraception.
- Maintaining and cleaning equipment used by the nurses and GPs
- Maintaining GP and Nurses rooms, stocking and rotating items as required
- Maintain general tidiness and cleanliness of nurses and treatment rooms
- Maintain stock of waiting room leaflets and Health Promotion Literature
- Ordering of vaccinations to maintain stock levels
