Job summary
The practice is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic General Practitioner. The candidate will work autonomously to deliver excellent clinical care in accordance with a GMS contract.
The practice may consider a 4, 6 or 8 sessional contract appointing up to 2 full time equivalent GPS. The successful candidate will be based in the heart of Tower Hamlet serving 12000 patients via various means from telephone and e-consultations to face to face clinics.
The practice encourages and supports all newly qualified GPs a varied and fulfilling portfolio work. This may take forms of active participation in PCN and borough wide project work to leading If practice projects from Same Day & Enhances Access to LTC clinics.

Salaried GP Core Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality medical care to the practice population, ensuring services align with primary care contracts.
- Prescribe generically in line with local and national guidelines.
- Manage long-term conditions effectively and process administrative tasks promptly, including referrals and prescriptions.
- Participate in telephone triage and duty doctor roles on a rotational basis.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and adhere to best practices, clinical guidelines, and audit recommendations.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and support continuous development within the practice.
- Accept delegated responsibilities for specific areas, including QOF.
- Attend practice meetings and contribute to clinical governance and training.
- Ensure compliance with appraisals, revalidation, and ongoing professional development.
- Support medical student training and collaborate with partners to enhance service delivery and financial sustainability.
- Adhere to practice policies, encourage teamwork, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Participate in practice audits and local service initiatives.
- Contribute to reviewing significant and near-miss events using structured analysis.
- Represent the practice in boroughwide events as required.
About us
Gough Walk Practice is located in Poplar, adjacent to All Saints DLR. We are a accredited training practice with 4 educational trainers supporting ST1, 2 and 3 trainees. The practice also take 2 groups of medical students from QMUL.
The successful candidate will be based in a purpose built health centre and supported by an experienced clinical and administrative team. The team boasts a healthy skill mix of clinicians inc. GPs, pharmacists, PA, Practice Nurse, Nursing Associate, HCA and the midwifery teams.
