Job summary

The Lyndhurst Surgery are looking for a full/part -time Practice manager who will be accountable on a day-to-day basis for its operational and stakeholder management of a NHS General Practice, with a list size of around 5000 patients.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and resourceful manager with strong interpersonal skills to manage the practice and its future growth. The person appointed will be appropriately qualified and have proven skills particularly in HR, IT and managing finances.

Main duties of the job

Patient services: maintaining effective systems for the smooth day to day running of the Practice

Strategic development and financial planning of the practice: ensuring opportunities for the development of the practice are maximised

Maximising income streams and ensuring cost efficiencies for the practice

Human Resource Management

Leadership and management of practice staff; ensuring a cohesive, stable and well-motivated workforce

Management of Information Technology systems

Management of equipment and stock

Health and Safety, risk assessments and compliance with mandatory training

Overseeing day to day compliance with GDPR

Ensuring Care Quality Commission compliance

About us

The Lyndhurst Surgery is a training practice to trainee GPs and medical students. At our last CQC inspection we were rated as Good. We are a high QOF achieving practice. We are part of the Forest Integrated Health PCN based in Waltham Forest. We have two partners, and are supported by experienced clinical and non-clinical teams.

  • Proven record of managing an organisation and its staff in a healthcare setting
  • General Practice experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Proficient in the use of IT systems- EMIS web, Microsoft Office
  • Experience of performance management, including appraisal writing, staff development
  • Disclosure Barring Service - DBS check
  • Ability to prioritise, delegate and work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective time management - Planning & Organising
  • Ability to develop, implement and embed policy and procedure

Desirable

  • Educated to degree level in healthcare or business
  • Leadership and / or Management Qualification
  • AMSPAR Qualification
