KIWY PCN are delighted to offer this exciting post of Pharmacy Technician under the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme. You will be based within Woodstock Surgery joining the existing 5 pharmacists across our Primary Care Network. The Practice Pharmacy Technician is an integral part of the clinical team, using and sharing pharmacy technician expertise to support the GPs and the whole practice in effective medicines management and optimal patient care.
The appointed applicant will be a qualified Pharmacy Technician or working towards that using the CPPE training pathway. You should also be a registered member of the General Pharmacist Council.

Main duties of the job
Below is a list of the typical duties that the successful candidate will be asked to perform as part of their daily work. It is expected that this list of responsibilities will be expanded as the Pharmacy Technician develops within their role.
- Undertaking face to face, telephone and email consultations with patients
- To carry out medicines optimization tasks
- To manage Shared Care Agreements/Protocols
- To undertake monitoring of high risk medicines
- To action Care Home monthly repeat medication requests
- To be actively involved with QOF domains, PQS domains, CQC safety searches and any other relevant safety administration
- To review secondary care requests for new medication (as communicated by discharge summaries, outpatient letters, etc.) and raise any queries with the Practice Pharmacist. To put these requests on the patients record
- Action all discharge summaries and clinic letters received via Docman
- To maintain cost-effective prescribing as per BOB Formulary
- To complete end of month submissions to NHSBSA and act on any potential payment discrepancies
About us
Kidlington, Islip, Woodstock and Yarnton PCN is a network of four medium-sized, partnership practices, serving over 36,000 patients across Oxfordshire. We are an established PCN using excellent communication and co-operative working to build on existing positive relationships.
This particular role will be based in Woodstock surgery, which is 8 miles north of Oxford on the edge of the Cotswolds. It is a historic town adjacent to Blenheim Palace, home of the Duke of Marlborough and birthplace of Winston Churchill. Woodstock surgery is a mainly rural practice with about 9,500 patients, 6,000 of whom live outside the town.
