Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team in a busy two-site Surgery based in Middleton Junction and Alkrington. We are looking to appoint  two part-time receptionist/administrators who will fit into our friendly, dedicated and capable reception team. Applicants must have excellent communication skills, enthusiasm, good IT skills, and the ability to work under pressure, multi-task and self-initiate. This is an essential front line role, requiring positivity and excellent care to our 8000+ patient list. You will work as part of a team assisting patients to access the right services, booking appointments, and taking requests and queries. 

Main duties of the job

· Answering phone calls and greeting patients face to face.

· Booking/cancelling appointments.

· Handling prescription requests.

· Monitoring surgery emails.

· Navigating patients to the correct services

· Managing tasks from clinical team

· Managing E-post system

Job responsibilities

As a GP receptionist/administrator you will be working in a larger multi-disciplinary team to provide excellent care to our patients. You will be responsible, with your team, for signposting all patient queries that come through our communication systems, liaising with healthcare professionals both internally and externally, actioning patient requests, the opening and closing of the building, and upholding a caring environment for our patient population. We are looking for someone who thrives in working with people and can approach a busy day with positivity, flexibility and compassion. Applicants must have excellent communication skills, enthusiasm, good IT skills, and the ability to work under pressure, multi-task and self-initiate.  

We currently have 2 vacancies available for Mon - Fri. There will be a standard working pattern within the Surgery's opening hours of 07:30-18:30. 

Applicants for this role will need to be flexible and willing to work morning/afternoon shifts. Holiday and sickness cover is essential.
