Job summary

We are seeking two friendly, conscientious people who can work under pressure efficiently and productively. You must be committed to providing excellent patient care, be reliable with a professional approach to work. The ideal candidate will have an empathetic manner, excellent communication skills and IT confident, ideally some experience working with SystemOne. Training on computer systems and internal processes will be provided. These part time posts (hours negotiable to fit in with current team) attract 5 weeks annual leave(pro rata) and an NHS pension. Main duties of the job

Job Summary: To deal efficiently and courteously with patient enquiries and requests. To provide administrative support to the practice. •Receive and Direct Patients •Deal with general patient enquiries face to face and on the telephone •Photocopying •Accepting and testing patient specimens as appropriate •Mainting tidyness and up to date information in waiting room by updating posters, leaflets and TV messages. •Deal with requests for repeat prescriptions and other medication •Organising new patients records and adding data from paper records to patients computerised medical record • Any other ad hoc duties as requested by the Partners, Practice Manager or Reception Manager.

Our team includes GP's, Practice Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, Administrative and Reception staff who all work together supportively, with external staff such as Community Nurses and Health Visitors, to provide the best care for our registered patients.

- To provide general secretarial support to the Practice Manager, GP's and other Health Professionals. - To offer general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and professional image to patients and other visitors either in person or via telephone. - To receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way. - To undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice, including the provision of secretarial and clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the practice team. - To facilitate effective communication between patients, members of the practice health care team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies. -To act as a focal point of communication between the GP's, Receptonists, Practice Manager, patients, and local chemist(s), as well as other members of the primary health care team, to ensure patients' medication is produced within the current protocols of the surgery.
