Main duties of the job

Clinical Care

  • Provide comprehensive GP services including surgery consultations (triage, face-to-face, telephone, and online)
  • Assess, diagnose, treat, and manage patients presenting with a wide range of conditions
  • Manage acute, chronic, and preventive care in line with NICE and local guidelines
  • Undertake home visits when required (we are a low visit practice)
  • Provide appropriate follow-up, referrals, and signposting to community and secondary care services

Patient Safety & Quality

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality clinical records
  • Participate in clinical governance, significant event analysis, and quality improvement activities
  • Prescribe safely and cost-effectively in line with local formularies
  • Safeguard children and vulnerable adults in line with practice and statutory policies

Team Working

  • Work collaboratively with GP partners, salaried GPs, nurses, pharmacists, and the wider MDT
  • Support training and supervision of students, trainees, or other clinicians where appropriate
  • Participate in clinical meetings and practice development activities

Professional Development

  • Maintain GMC registration and revalidation requirements
  • Participate in appraisal, CPD, and mandatory training
  • Keep up to date with clinical guidelines and best practice

Practice & PCN Involvement

  • Contribute to practice and PCN initiatives
  • Support continuity of care and neighborhood health management
  • Contribute to service redesign and improvement projects as agreed

We are a well established GP surgery in the village of Bagshot, serving a close community of around 6600 patients. Our team is made up of 2 partners, 4 salaried GP colleagues, practice nurse, nursing associate, HCA and 2 GPAs, 2 pharmacists and our admin and reception staff.

To provide high-quality patient centred primary care services as part of the practice team, contributing to the delivery of safe, effective and compassionate General Practice.

The post-holder will undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations with a mixture of telephone or face to face, home visits, checking and signing prescriptions, dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely manner.

Contribute to successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice.
