Job summary

Seven Dials Medical Centre is seeking a 4-6 session Partner looking to join a committed, motivated and supportive partnership.

We will also consider a salaried GP appointment with a view to Partnership also

Main duties of the job

With investment in the shared running of your own business, you will have the opportunity to shape the identity and services of the practice, to help develop the practice team and deliver the highest levels of care for patients. You will also:

  • Provide effective clinical administration, audit and management.

  • Contribute to the practice team by being an effective team member.

  • Contribute to the management of the practice.

  • Contribute to the development of the practice business

About us

We are based in the center of Brighton on Montpelier Crescent with a Practice list size of circa 6950 patients. We are currently a 5-partner practice soon to drop to 4 due to retirement. We have an extremely competent and highly performing nursing and HCA team and an excellent supportive administrative team. We also have access to a wide range of supporting allied healthcare professionals via our well-established Primary Care Network.

We consult using SystmOne and also utilise IT systems such as Docman 10, Agilio Teamnet and more. We have always had an excellent QOF performance and are rated as “Good” by CQC. We offer many Enhanced Services including Extended Hours, joint injections, minor ops, family planning and many additional chronic disease clinics. We are a training practice, hosting GP Speciality Trainees, FY2 doctors and medical students. As a partnership, we ensure we are supportive to each other, enabling each other to carry out CPD, training and of course, take annual leave. A good work-life balance is important to us and communication is strong to enable us to achieve this.

Job description

Job responsibilities

The following are the core responsibilities of a GP/Partner. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:

a. The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population

b. The provision of services commensurate with the GMS contract

c. Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance

d. Effective management of long-term conditions

e. Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks

f. On a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles

g. Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance

h. Working collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload

i. Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process

j. Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice

k. Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) or the QOF

l. Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required

m. Contribute effective to the development and maintenance of the practice including; clinical governance, training, financial management and HR

n. Ensure compliance with the appraisal process

o. Prepare and complete the revalidation process

p. Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team

q. Support the practice in achieveing the strategic aims of the practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure

r. Review and adhere to practice protocols and policies at all times

s. Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, promoting a culture of continuous improvement at all times

  • Full GMC Registration;
  • National Performers List registration;
  • Appropriate medical defence indemnity;
  • Eligibility to practice in the UK independently;
  • Experience of working in a primary care environment;
  • Experience of continued professional development;
  • Experience of QOF and clinical audit;
  • General understanding of the GMS contract;
  • Outstanding level of clinical knowledge and skills commensurate with that of a Partner;
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral);
