Melrose Surgery is a forward
thinking inner city practice, looking to employ a committed and enthusiastic
full time practice nurse to join our team of 2 Nurses.

Main duties of the job
Seeing patients for Long Term conditions, dressings, ECG's, suture removing, wound checks. This list is not exhaustive.

We have 16,000 patients over
two sites. Personal Medical Services are provided by four GP partners, 4 Salaried GP, GP Retainers, GP Trainees, one long term locums, two practice nurses, 3 Health Care Assistants, GP Assistants, a Pharmacy team, a Paramedic. A strong administrative team and a capable reception team
ably support them.

The Practice Nurse will be responsible for a number of clinical areas such as helping withinfection prevention and control, health promotion, chronic disease management, health promotion, well women and well man clinics, as well as actively supporting the practice management team in the reviewing and delivery of clinical policy and procedure. The successful candidate will be able to:
- obtaining blood samples
- electrocardiograms(ECGs)
- minor and complex wound management including leg ulcers
- travel health advice and vaccinations
- child immunisations and advice
- family planning & womens health including cervical smears
- mens health screening
- sexual health services
- smoking cessation
- screening and helping patients to manage long term conditions
