Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Practice Nurse to join the dynamic team at Beech House Surgery.

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic team player to provide excellent nursing care and support our 4 GP Partners and practice team, ensuring the highest standard of care for our registered patients.

The vacant role is for 16 hours per week. Regular overtime is available as we require someone with flexibility to provide additional cover for holidays/absences.

Job Responsibilities

Please note that this is not a comprehensive list but outlines minimum requirements: To assess the needs of patients ensuring the provision of healthcare is appropriate, incorporating evidence-based practice. To implement and evaluate individual treatment plans for chronic disease patients that promote health and wellbeing, referring patients to secondary/specialist care as required.

To identify, manage and support patients at risk of developing long-term conditions, preventing adverse effects to patients health.

As required, to provide routine nursing care to patients in accordance with clinical based evidence, NICE and local guidance.

To undertake cervical screening. To provide guidance to patients in the use of prescribed and over-the-counter medications regarding side effects and dosages.

To request pathology services and process pathology results as required. To undertake wound management including compression bandaging and doppler as well as simple dressings.

Assist with coil, implant and minor surgery clinics.

Ear irrigation.

Spirometry/Feno.

ECGs.

To carry out childhood immunisations and vaccinations and injections (such as flu, B12, Zoladex, etc).
