Job summary

We are a well-established, 2 partner, growing practice looking for two 6 session Salaried GPs. The successful candidates will join our expanding clinical team consisting of:

2 GP Partners, 1 Salaried GP, 2 long term locums, 3 Clinical Pharmacists, 1 Physicians Associate and 2 practice nurses plus several clinical staff through our PCN.

Main duties of the job

We have an excellent team of administration and reception staff together with a Business Manager.

The practice has a growing list of 8,300. We are forward thinking and constantly researching more efficient and effective ways of providing care to our patients. We have recently moved to total triage and use cutting edge software to support this move.

We encourage training and professional development, take medical students and are in the process of applying to become a training practice.

Maintaining a consistent home life is a key factor to sustaining a successful career in General practice. Therefore, we have changed the way we manage our workload to facilitate this. To include:

1) Separate document management process - managed by a dedicated team

2) medicines managed by dedicated team

3) labs centralised - managed by a dedicated team.

We try to minimise “work creep,” and have managed to integrate a culture of constantly iterating our processes after reflecting with our practice team.

We are humble enough to accept we can always be better and have drive/ambition to make it happen.

Job summary:

The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.

Clinical responsibilities:

  • The post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion
  • Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation
  • Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
  • Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
  • Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols
  • Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate
