Main duties of the job
As a Practice Nurse at Penarth Healthcare Partnership, you will be responsible for a range of clinical and public health duties, including but not limited to:
Public Health & Disease Prevention
- Administering adult and childhood immunizations, including seasonal and travel vaccinations.
Chronic Disease Management
- Supporting patients with ongoing management of chronic conditions, ensuring high-quality, patient-centred care. With an interest in respiratory conditions or diabetes preferred.
Clinical Interventions
- Conducting INR monitoring and associated sample testing.
- Smears
- Contraception including Depo Provera administration
- Prostap administration
Professional Standards
- Working in full compliance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code of Conduct.
- Adhering to all relevant practice policies and procedures to ensure patient safety and high standards of care.

Penarth Healthcare Partnership is a dynamic and innovative GP practice located near Penarth town centre, serving a diverse and growing patient population of approximately 16,500. With excellent transport links, our practice is well-positioned to support both our community and our team members.
Our dedicated team includes 6 GP Partners, 4 Salaried GPs, 2 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, 3 experienced nurses, 2 Healthcare Support Workers, and 2 Pharmacists. As a training practice with strong ties to the RCGP, LMC, and Cardiff & Vale University Health Board, we are committed to professional growth, collaboration, and delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.
