Job summary

Granville House Medical Centre are looking to expand and have an opening for an experienced part-time Health Care Assistant to join the team, working 16 hours a week over 3 days.

This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate and dedicated team player who is willing to develop the role within our nursing team.

Working independently and collaboratively with our clinicians, and strictly in accordance with practice guidelines and protocols you will assist in the provision and delivery of excellent patient care.

Main duties of the job

With a holistic approach, the successful candidate will work within the practice nursing team to ensure the efficient and effective provision of nursing services to our patient population.

It is essential that the post holder has excellent communication skills and a patient centred approach.

You will be heavily involved in the long-term management of our patients with varying needs and will have a proactive role in providing treatment, education, preventative care and health promotion.

Regular hours will include a regular extended access clinic outside of core hours, so flexibility is required.

Granville House Medical Centre is well established training GP practice located in Adlington.

Serving 8100 patients, our team is made up of 3 full time GP Partners, 2 x Salaried GP's and an experienced nursing and administration team who care about the well-being of each patient and work together to create a positive and supportive practice environment for both patients and team members.

Job responsibilities

Clinical responsibilities include

Phlebotomy.

Blood Pressure monitoring/Hypertension reviews.

ECG recording.

New patient and NHS health checks.

Vaccinations including flu and administering B12 injections.

Infection control and equipment management.

Vaccine cold chain storage, monitoring, recording and stock control.

Contribute to QOF, Quality Contract and other Enhanced Services.

Urinalysis and the preparation of specimen.

Gathering lifestyle data from patients to ensure accurate record keeping along with educating or signposting to external sources to promote health and wellbeing.

Follow clinical and practice protocols and work within competence.

Assist in ensuring Health & Safety policies and procedures are followed.

Administrative responsibilities include

Attend and participate in practice meetings as required.

Assist with the collection and collation of data relating to population health and well-being.

Assist with seasonal programmes as requested.

Additional ad-hoc tasks as required.
